Aviemore, UK – Cairngorm-based Fitnessat58° started 2024 with a bang as they hosted its sixth and largest Loch Morlich Running Festival on January 6, welcoming an astounding 600 runners to the picturesque backdrop of Loch Morlich.

The event commenced with an enthusiastic group warm-up led by Sam Cairns, Fitnessat58° Founder, former Team GB athlete, and Mount Everest summiteer. The runners then embarked on a scenic trail through the canopy of Glenmore Forest, before ending at the shores of Loch Morlich beach.

The Loch Morlich Running Festival has seen a remarkable surge in popularity, doubling in size in just 1 year. Runners had the choice of tackling either a 5km or 10km route, each offering a unique challenge through the Cairngorms National Park.

Sam Cairns, Fitnessat58° founder, expressed his immense pride in the event’s success, stating,

“I’m incredibly proud of all the runners who took part in our sixth Loch Morlich Running Festival, and not to forget the wonderful supporters who helped create such a vibrant atmosphere.  I’d like to give a special thanks to all our business partners and landowners, without them, this wouldn’t be possible. The team and I are very grateful for the backing that has allowed us to double the event’s size from 2023 to 2024. I’m excited to see the event’s continued growth.”

Fitnessat58°’s busy schedule for 2024 includes the eagerly awaited Cairngorm Retreats, the Speyside Triathlon, the formidable SAS Challenge, the Algarve Adventure trip, and new for this year, the Corporate Retreat
